Nothing says summer and fall quite like the russets, and we don't mean potatoes. We're talking the beautiful shades of brown, red, and golden yellow. They are the colours associated with the earth, and offer a warm natural soft feeling to our gardens. They have gained the respect of modern gardeners, and are being incorporated into gardens all across the country. From golden Chrysanthemums, to wheat colored grasses, all the way to deep pink sedums, they are definitely in! A small amount of russet can have big impact in the summer and fall garden. You can incorporate russet through grasses, sedums, perennials, and the wonderful fall colored shrubs.
