Nothing compliments the fall and winter garden quite like berries. They look gorgeous and they attract birds. The most common berry colours are black, orange, and red, but there are also the metallic blues of the viburnums as well as the purples of the beauty berry bush. Of course, berries always follow flowers, so berry yielding-bushes add beauty to the garden throughout the year. You can easily incorporate berries into your yard by adding a holly bush, pyracantha, or the easy to grow viburnums. Your winter landscape will thank you.
Most berries are safe; however in the interest of small children and animals leave the poisonous ones out of your landscape. Check the safety of berry bearing shrubs where you purchase your plants.
