There is not an old piece of iron, concrete, or scrap metal that does not get a second chance from me. Infact, I have been told many times "Quit bringing home that junk" or I hear "What are you going to use that for?" I'm a compulsive collector, or in a more appropriate term a glorified scavenger.
It is my firm belief that someone's junk is my next treasure. In the past years I've brought home truckloads of wrought iron, maple floor, old wooden frame windows and doors, old wood stoves, and a full range of bricks, concrete, and culverts. Most of which get stored for future use and some I display and use regularly. There is always a use for junk!
This month I have chosen to write about my 'steel' collection. These are a few of my favorite rescued pieces that have been given new jobs in my home. Hopefully they will inspire you to see out a few 'steel' pieces.
