At the nursery this year we have headed down the organic path. In addition to offering a unique variety of product we have taken the commitment to promote organic products to our customers. A lucky find at a local organic show was the discovery of these wonderful organic seed potatoes. We are proud to offer Certified Organic Single Drop Elite Seed Potatoes from the pristine Peace River Region of Northern British Columbia, Canada. They are supplied by The Pure Seed Company, they are dedicated organic farmers and gardeners, committed to using sustainable agricultural methods to produce their crops.

This spring we are offering bulk sales of fantastic varieties, here is a small sample of Urban Greenary favourites:
- Russian Blue: Long oval purple skin and flesh, retains colour when cooked. A late potatoe
- Banana: Small Banana shape with pale yellow skin and flesh. All purpose, great for fries! Late variety.
- Rode Eesterling: Long oval dutch variety, with red skin and yellow flesh. Early potatoe.
- Sangre: Oval to Oblong: Thick red skin and white flesh, High yield and good storage.
- Eramosa: Oval, semi flattened with buff skin and white flesh. Very Early.
- Ranger Russet: Long with white flesh and tannish skin. Very Late!!

Here are some helpful growing tips:
- Potatoes need to be planted in rich garden soil that has a neutral ph.
- Don't put lime in your soil when you plant!
- Hill the soil up around the potatoes to make a nice rich growing area
- Watering is essential but make sure there is good drainage.
- Potatoes can be planted in the soil in Mid-March to as late as the end of May, any later and they will probably not mature.
- Potatoes are ready to harvest when they have flowered and the foliage is starting to yellow. Make sure you find out if the potatoes are early, mid, or late season maturing.
- To make sure that you always have fresh potatoes buy a few of all the types
