May has always been a pleasing month to me. Even before I was a gardening enthusiast I loved May. It's the month of May where I knew I would be safe storing away all those winter woolies and even if we did get a particularly cold bit of weather, a sweatshirt would suffice. It is also the month where all the routines of winter and early spring are safely set aside only to be replaced with the next set of routines that although have been practiced in years previous, seem brand new now. As May rolls around this year I find myself lighting the wood burning stove less often, wearing shorts and a sweatshirt to run in the morning, hanging the laundry on the line and weeding the raspberry patch. The garage has been emptied of the geraniums that slept there all winter and I'm ready to cover my front porch with unusual combinations of potted plants. I hope you're feeling the same way and enjoy reading our articles, recipes and project ideas.
