Sage is a beautiful gray foliage plant that will add a Mediterranean flavour to both your garden and your meals.
Sage boasts blue flower spikes in the summer. The flowers and foliage make it a pretty addition to your herb garden. As a culinary herb, a little goes a long way. Its strong distinctive flavour is excellent in soups, stews and roast lamb dishes.
Grow sage in a warm sunny spot that is sheltered from winds. It needs some protection from intense winter weather but is frost hardy. Sage needs a well-drained soil. Don’t allow water to collect around the roots. Sage doesn’t need rich
soil - rocky, sandy soil is just fine for this undemanding plant. Sage is also drought hardy but if you want a lush plant remember to give it water in the dry hot days of summer.
