It’s the time to plant the veggie garden. In fact some plants should already be in the ground and if they’re not do it quick. I’m talking about cool season veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, leeks, spinach and Swiss chard. By the end of the month you can plant your tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and squash. For a perfect head start for all your veggies add a handful of this mix around the base of each plant.

The Mix
    1 large bag mushroom manure
    10 shovels compost
    3 shovels peat moss
    1 large handful organic fertilizer
1 small handful crushed oyster shells

This mix will provide many of the nutrients your veggies require including calcium and trace elements. This mix is especially useful on tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and squash.
